Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, in the middle of the lovely landscape of the Fribourg Lake District and easily accessible via the A1 highway, lies the historic Zähringen town of Murten. Where the Confederates defeated the mighty army of Charles the Bold in 1476, it is a wonderful place for swimming, surfing or sunbathing, as well as cycling and hiking. The battlements of the mighty town walls offer a view of the vineyards, the lake and the nearby Jura mountains and protect the authentic little town that gave our hotel its name.
